This is a translucent, almost gemmy ruby crystal, with a lighter pink smaller crystal, along with a small patch of pyrite, on white marble. Ruby is the pink gem variety of the mineral species corundum.
The ruby crystals are in the pseudo-octahedral form and most of the crystal faces show classic ruby crystallization lines. UV photos are with 365 nm long wave light.
